Sorry about today

Hello class. Sorry about today. I was so excited to talk with you guys and then the internet connection went dead. I've sent an e-mail to Mrs. Parisi and maybe we can try again on Friday. I'd really like to know what you guys are liking best about our trip. Can you post some things on the blog? If I can't get anymore of the videos loaded while we are on the trip, I will definitely do them from my house so you can watch them all.

Talk with you soon! Hopefully.

Dear Suzanne,
Did the Egyptians mummify animals the same way as humans? And why would King Tut go hunting if he had servants to do that for him?

Thanks A Ton!
Alex

Here are some thoughts from the students:

Carlye - I have learned that only 50 people have seen King Tuts mummy before they put it on display!

Carlos - The best thing I like about Egypt would probably be that you can go as fast as you want and what I don't like is that you guys are going around with armed guards. Otherwise, everything has been great. Did you guys get to go into the Sphinx yet?

Ryan - I like how much time you spent on this nd all of the facts about how they mummify people?

Chase - In some videos you posted there was not a lot of sand. Is there a lot of snd and you just didn't show it?

Megan - I hve learned that the streets and roads are dangerous but the tourist are safe. What has been your favorite thing to see?

Kayla - Why do they think that there is curse on King Tut?

Adison - I like the videos the best because it's so cool to be able to see what Egypt looks like without even being there.

Reagan - The thin that I learned was King Tut was 19 when he died. Also the think I like the best was King Tut. When you say King Tut's head, did you almost throw up or have to turn away because of wht it looked like?

Luke - I liked the videos you sent us in Egypt. Are you going to see King Tut?

Emily - What's your favorite part about being in Egypt?

Jake - I learned Tut was in multiple pieces. I ws wondering if you saw King Tut nd if he looked different in person?

Quentin - Have you gotten to see any different kings of animals other than the ones you see in Indiana? I also like the Steve Martin video.

Arden - I've liked hearing all about the different tobs you've visited.

Kathryn - I have learned that Egypt is kind of like the United States. How many hotels have you stayed at?

Hannah - I loved the King Tut mummy. He was so cool! I really liked the blog about where you've been and where you were going. I had no idea there were that many places in Egypt. The whole experience has been great. You guys are great!

Pierce - I have learned so much from you two. It's been fun. My fvorite thing so far is being able to talk to both of you. I hope the rest of your trip goes well.

Anna - I wish you got better internet access. I saw some pictures on the internet of the Valley of Queens and I was wondering were any of the sites you've seen your favorite?

Paul - What is the average climate there? I like how you vedioe tape Egypt and we can see it.

Mikaela - Wht has been your favorite part of your trip? I think it is interesting that you can actually go inside tombs of kings, queens, nd Pharohs.

Mitch - I like talking to you guys on the computer. Did you see ny animls on your Nile Cruise (besides fish)?

Katie - I like the blogs the best. I've learned more by reading them.

Kim - What I liked about this trip was the Great Pyramids because I did not know that people were able to climb in it.

Mrs. Parisi - I've learned more than I ever thought I'd know about Egypt. This has been a great experience for all of us. Tomorrow we are going to link some of our Science standards regarding pollution and ocean currents into this project. We will pretend that we are Egyptian citizens and learn how what we do on a daily basis and the decisions we make each day can pollute the water and effect the ocean waters. I've also enjoyed "traveling" with you guys. Bradley and Catherine are learning about Egypt as well.

One more question...the students would like to meet the stars of the Egypt project. When are you guys coming to Indy?

3rd Period Comments:

David - I learned about the Great Pyramids and the temples and articats that are found there. I thought that seeing how the papyrus paper was made was the coolest thing I've seen. I also have one question: What is that average temperature in Egypt?

Lexie - I have learned that King Tut was the youngest king to ever reign in Egypt and I have learned about the mummifcation process. This project has been really neart because I have gotten to see a bunch of historical things in Egypt. Oh, and I was wondering what was the food chain like in Ancient Egypt from highest to lowest? For example were there serfs, peasants, kings, queens, etc.?

Lauren - I really enjoyed learning about Abydos (especially the Lord of Abydos Mystery). It's really cool that you're there. Why is Isis sometimes winged and sometimes not?

Jake S. - I learned that there were very many Kings and Pharohs in Ancient Egypt. The neatest thing was talking to you through the MAC. I just wanted to know if it was as hot as they say it is there, like hotter than 100 degrees?

Josh - I've learned about all the cities and places you've visited. I think that the Sphinx and the Pyramids are cool. I also liked learning about the mummies.

Jay - I've learned some of the cities in Egypt. The coolest thing was King Tut being unmasked. Is this a job to go travel around the world?

Nick - I liked the pyramids, the Sphinx, and King Tut.

Conner H. - I have learned that Egypt is a very cool place that has a lot of mummies, tombs, and temples. I really like Sharm El Shiekh and the twin sided Temple of Kom Ombo. I wanted to know how hot it feels (like in temperature) in the tombs and in the chambers in the Great Pyramids.

Jack S. - The thing that's cool to me is Steve Martin's King Tut video and knowing that you could drive 90 mph. The thing that I have learned is that you could climb the Pyramids. A question that I have is why do they have to check for bombs under your van?

Luke - Throughout the duration of this project I have learned many things about Egypt that I've never heard of before, such as how they make papyrus scrolls. The most interesting thing I've learned however, is that Abu Simbel contains two temples; the Temple of Ramses II and the Temple of Nefertari dedicatied to Hathor.

Sydney - I've learned some things about mummies and tombs. I think the neatest thing we did was talking to you from the computer and the neatest thing I learned was all the things about King Tut. I wanted to know if you could send us some Egyptian coins or show us some when we talk with you.

Kevin - My classmates and I really appreciate what you and your husband are doing. Not many schools have people like you to travel all around Egypt, going to each famour landmaks and monument. Though, I would like to know have you seen any scarabs and have they bitten you?

Mitch - I've learned a lot of things but some of them are: How mummies are made, alot of myths about Gods and Kings, adn teh differences and similarities between Egypt and the US.
